A citizen has reportedly filed a case of land grab against Shamim Akhtar, the mother of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday. Shamim Akhtar was accused by the complainant of illegally occupying 108 kanals of land in the vicinity of Jati Umrah in Raiwind, Lahore.
The petitioner further said that Akhtar had illegally made her mother sign the papers for land transfer. Judge Muhammad Kashif directed the plaintiff to forward their final arguments on the next hearing and adjourned the case.
In her response, Shamim Akhter said that she had all the documents to prove that the land was legally acquired. She added that the case had been filed to pressure the Sharif family.
