Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing has summoned former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar for his long-standing disagreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Legal advisor Tafazzul Rizvi.
Geo News reported that the sources have confirmed this invitation sent out to Shoaib Akhtar to appear before the agency on Friday morning.
Shoaib Akhtar’s team has however denied any news of this.
His lawyer said that Akhtar has not received any such notice from the FIA. "If a notice is received, we will respond with a reasonable answer," he said.
Akhtar and Rizvi had gotten into a spat earlier this April after a YouTube video in which the bowler had accused the legal advisor of creating misunderstandings between the players of PCB and called him "an inept person of the highest order".
Rizvi had then filed a defamation suit against Akhtar worth Rs. 10 million for affecting his goodwill in media.
He said that the bowler said false things about him and they were circulated between a large audience on social media, hence he will take legal action as an answer.
The PCB officer also said that international action will be taken against the bad-mouthing of his reputation by Shoiab Akhtar, and he registered a complaint with the FIA.
