Non-bailable arrest warrants were issued for activist Gulalai Ismail by an additional district and sessions court.
Just yesterday, the activist had stated that the sole reason for her leaving the country was because the state failed to protect her and give her constitutional rights.
She was responding to a comment made by Shireen Mazari whereby the HR minister had accused her of making allegations against Pakistan Army in order to get asylum in the United States.
Gulalai Ismail had gone into hiding following a crackdown in May against Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement supporters after a protest against 10-year-old Farishta’s rape and murder.
Last year, the activist’s name had been put on the Exit Control List for alleged anti-state activities. It had later emerged in court that the ISI had recommended to the federal government that Gulalai’s name should be put on ECL.
