Recently the newspaper came under fire for reporting that the London Bridge attacker, who killed two in the UK in a terrorist attack, was of Pakistani origin. Critics had said that the newspaper had made the claim without there being an official statement from British authorities on the matter.
The crowd put forth the demand that Dawn should declare that the news as false. In response, an administration official from Dawn News issued an apology to the crowd for hurt sentiments due to the published news.
