While addressing a National Assembly session on Thursday, the prime minister had said that Pakistan will release Abhinandan as a peace gesture. He had said tensions between the two countries are due to the Kashmir issue which could only be resolved via dialogue.
Today the social media was rife with people praising the premier while blaming Indian premier Narendra Modi for “escalating tensions between the two countries for his gains”.
One user wrote that "Imran Khan has tried his best to deescalate the tensions", while, he added that in case of escalation, the entire blame will be on Modi".
The user also "supported Nobel Peace Prize for Imran Khan".
Imran khan has tried his best to de-escalate India-Pakistan Tension .

While there is also a petition making rounds on the social media that has "nominated Imran Khan for the Nobel Peace Prize". The petition has almost reached its target of 50,000 signatories.
