The federal government has announced extension of lockdown across the country till April 14 to contain the spread of coronavirus. Federal Minister Asad Umar said that the restrictions currently in place in the country will continue till April 14.
He said that the decision had been made in consultation with provincial governments.
It is important to note that Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that the lockdown was having a negative impact on the economy and that it had to be lifted soon.
In his address to the nation on Monday night, he said that Indian PM Narendra Modi apologised to his nation after the situation in the country worsened due to the lockdown. The PM said that the lockdown was affected the poor who will die of hunger if the restrictions continue.
