An over 100-year-old Hindu temple was attacked in the Purana Qila area of Rawalpindi on Saturday. The stains and doors of the temple and the ongoing renovation work was damaged in the attack.
Dawn reported that the surroundings of the temple had been occupied by the encroachment mafia which had made shops and kiosks around it. Recently, the encroachments were removed by district administration in assistance with the police. Following removal of encroachments, the temple was being renovated.
FIR lodged
Meanwhile, an FIR was lodged at the Bannni police station by a security officer of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).
