'Ray Of Hope': Progressive Quarters Celebrate As Babar Sattar Takes Oath As IHC Judge

Babar Sattar, who was until recently a lawyer and legal commentator, took oath today as one of the two newly appointed additional judges of Islamabad High Court (IHC). Known for his progressive views and uprightness, Sattar's appointment is being seen as a positive development in grim times.

Through his columns and TV appearances, Babar Sattar has always taken the right positions by standing up for rule of law and the constitution -- which made him one of the few sane voices on the mainstream media and the legal profession. Therefore, his appointment has given many the hope for a more progressive judiciary.

Taking to twitter many including activists and journalist congratulated Sattar on his appointment and expressed the hope that he will make a difference.

Along with Justice Babar Sattar, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri has also been appointed as additional judge of the IHC.
