The mother of a Karachi youngster, who was killed by police firing last Friday, has said that Naya Pakistan was not possible till such killings don’t stop.
Last week, in an incident of unprovoked firing, police had shot at a vehicle in Karachi’s Frere Hall area, resulting in the death of one Nabeel Hoodhboy.
The relatives of the victim held a press conference on Thursday, in which Nabeel’s mother demanded justice and stated that she won’t forgive anyone.
The family’s lawyer stated that police personnel had fired at Nabeel’s car, which was not moving, and instead of taking him to a hospital, had fled.
The lawyer added that such incidents had taken place in district south of Karachi, adding that killings like these would continue if people did not raise their voice against such incidents.
He further informed media that police had not included anti-terrorism provisions in the case.
He said that it was the family’s request to the chief minister to take notice of the incident, adding that the investigation was moving at a very slow pace.
