Two Constables Of Sindh Police Emerge As Heroes For Thwarting PSX Terrorist Attack

Social media users lauded two personnel of Rapid Response force of Sindh police who confronted the terrorists at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) from the front and neutralised them within no time.

Constables Khalil and Muhammad Rafiq stopped the terrorists as soon as they encountered them at the entrance of the PSX compound and saved the lives of many people who were inside the premises.

Earlier today, four terrorists were killed as they stormed the building of the trade centre armed with heavy arms and ammunition. Five security men, including a sub-inspector and four personnel were martyred in the attack.

According to an official police statement, one sub-inspector and four security guards were martyred in the incident, while another three personnel were injured. According to a news report, a civilian was also martyred in the attack. It added that a total of seven bodies were brought to Civil Hospital.

The police report further stated that the terrorists had entered the PSX compound from the parking area and were immediately overpowered. Security personnel carried out a search operation to clear the vicinity of any terrorist elements. Following the incident, police chief directed the personnel to strengthen security at other trade centres and sensitive installations in the city.

Meanwhile, a Rangers spokesperson said the attack resembled the previous such incidents funded by Indian spy agency RAW.

Federal Interior Minister brig (r) Ijaz Shah told media that the security personnel put up a strong defence against the terrorists. "We will reach the mastermind behind the attack and take all those responsible to task," he added.
