Federal board of Revenue has sent a Rs26 million fine notice to former captain of Pakistan Cricket Team Muhammad Hafeez for allegedly ‘concealing’ assets worth Rs 86 million.
The News reported that FBR sent the first notice to the former captain in 2014 regarding the concealing of assets but the former captain had failed to satisfy the revenue authority back then.
In 2019, Muhammad Hafeez received another notice regarding the alleged concealment of taxes, but he refused to have received the notice from FBR and expressed that he had always filed his taxes annually.
Hafeez, who is currently in England to represent Pakistan in three Twenty20 Internationals, has denied any tax evasion or asset concealment saying he files his tax returns annually.
