Opposition Censures Govt Over Petrol Price Hike In NA Session
The National Assembly session on Saturday roared with dismay against the price hike in petrol rates all over the country. Opposition lawmakers strongly condemned the government's decision to raise the price of petrol by Rs.25.58 per litre.

PML-N MNA Khurram Dastgir remarked that this has been the highest per cent increase by 34 per cent in the history of Pakistan. He added that the government is facilitating the mafia of the oil industry since they are already afraid of the crisis.

PPP lawmaker Abdul Qadir Patel opined that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) should investigate the hoarding of petrol reserves that caused the price hike.

After the fuel price hike was confirmed, people all over the cities of Pakistan rushed to get their vehicles refilled, resulting in massive lines outside the petrol stations.

Other national issues discussed were, the murder of an entire family in Sahiwal, where the murderer has not been punished yet, Dastagir reminded the house.

About the on-going sugar crisis in the country, Khurram Dastgir said that FIA has confirmed that the prices of sugar rose after permission for exports was granted.
