Former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has revealed that bowler Danish Kineria was victimised by members of the Pakistani cricket team for being a Hindu.
In a show aired on PTV Sports called ‘Game On Hai’, Akhtar made these startling revelations. He stated that some cricketers were reluctant to eat with Danish Kaneria because he was a Hindu.
Shoaib Akhtar said that he seldom fought with people on the team, and the reason was when people talked about regionalism and ethnicity. He added that such things used to anger him.
He added that some players (during lunch time) used to ask, “How is he (Danish) eating food from here.”

Following Shoab Akhtar’s remarks, it was reported in media that Danish had said that Shoaib Akhtar was telling the truth.
In comments to India media outlet ANI, Danish stated that there were players who had problems eating with him due to his religion. He said that he would reveal the names of players who did not like talking to him as he was a Hindu.
He further said that in the past, he did not have the courage to talk about the issue, but now he does.
