No action will be initiated against former chief justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial. Still, Justice Sayyed Muhammad Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi is in hot water. Within the next ten to fifteen days, a Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) session will be held against him, in which three out of five judges will vote against him.
While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy said that Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, chief justice of Sindh High Court, and Justice Sardar Tariq will vote against Justice Naqvi.
While responding to a question about the delay in the provision of justice to the general public, Suharwardy said that judges should be held accountable for delaying the provision of justice, adding that imposing fines on lawyers is not a solution.
The analyst said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif had instructed all the party leaders not to visit London and should stay in Lahore for his reception. He added that all party leaders have been directed to ensure the gathering of a large number of people for his reception, and tickets will be awarded to those who succeed in bringing the maximum number of people.
While talking about the detention of Khawar Manika, the former husband of Bushra Bibi, he mentioned that in August 2018, when PTI was ruling party, then-Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar ordered then-DPO Rizwan Gondal to visit the residence of Khawar Manika and apologized for stopping his vehicle on picket.
Gondal denied apologizing, and he was transferred to another province, and his salary remained halted for two consecutive years to please Manika, he added.
