The Managing Director of Pakistan Software Export Board informed in a briefing that Pakistan’s IT sector has earned a revenue of $4.1 billion during the fiscal year 2018-19.
He was briefing Shoaib Ahmed Siddique, Federal Secretary for Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication. According to Tech Juice, the managing director informed Siddique that remittances of the industry have surged by 9.9% in 2018-19.
It is pertained to mention here that federal minister for IT &T had directed Siddique to review PSEB`s performance and enhance efforts for Pakistani IT sector to tap into international markets. As per Tech Juice, During the briefing, the secretary emphasized the need to focus on international marketing efforts by enhancing the participation of Pakistani IT companies in international events.
The meeting further noted that bandwidth tariff has been reduced to 35% which comes as the government`s plan to propagate ease of doing business.
It is important to note that the authorities have also revamped the PSEB’s website. The website now includes online registration of companies and availability of online directory of IT companies in Pakistan.
