The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered postponement of the by-election for NA-75 in Daska, scheduled to be held on April 10 after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had ordered re-polling in the constituency fearing manipulation of results amid election day violence.
Workers of the PTI and the PML-N had clashed during the election after which some people were killed and wounded.
The decision was announced during hearing of a petition filed by the PTI's candidate from NA-75, Asjad Ali Malhi, against the ECP’s Feb 25 decision to hold re-polling in NA-75.
The bench, headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandia, said that the court wanted more time to decide the case.
