Just two days ahead of Indian Republic Day, Khan Market metro station in New Delhi echoed with ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ (long live Pakistan) slogans.
According to the police, a PCR call was received at the Tughlaq Road police station at around 1am about a few people shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ near the metro station in the Khan Market, a local newspaper reported. Local police said there are three women among the detainees and they along with their families are being investigated.
It was discovered during an interrogation that the detainees had arrived on rented Yulu bikes to the India Gate area and had raced there calling each other with countries name, including Pakistan’s.
"They decided to race on the Yulu bikes and call each other by names based on countries, including that of Pakistan. They had shouted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ in a lighter vein," said a senior officer.
