Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Pervaiz Elahi has deleted his tweet in which he paid thanks to the court for granting him bail, mentioned alleged injustice with the people of Gujrat in elections, and vowed to stay strong with the party founder Imran Khan, said senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy.
While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, the analyst said that Elahi has been released from jail on ‘trial period’, adding that he will be arrested again if he does not behave appropriately. He said that PTI leaders Fawad Chaudhry and Shah Mehmood Qureshi were released once, but they didn’t follow the script, which is why they got arrested again.
Suharwardy said that it is not yet clear whether Elahi was released from jail as a result of any deal with the establishment. PTI leadership is also suspicious about Elahi’s sudden release from jail, he added.
The analyst said that although Elahi has been released, there is currently no soft corner for his son, Moonis Elahi.
While responding to a question about the attack on PTI spokesperson Rauf Hasan, Suharwardy said that the incident should be probed. He also said that PTI leadership was praising transgenders when they attacked a police station in Mandi Bahauddin, but now they are bashing transgenders after they attacked their spokesperson.
While talking about the hacking of Naya Daur TV, the analyst said he doesn’t think the establishment was involved in it, adding that most likely it was the act of PTI hackers who felt threatened by the channel.
