A smartphone app called 'Pehchaan', introduced by the Punjab government, will allow citizens to check criminal record of individuals before hiring them as domestic workers. By checking the criminal history of their potential domestic helper, the citizens will be able to make a safe and informed decision about hiring their domestic workers.
The app has been launched in collaboration with Punjab Safe Cities Authorities (PSCA) at a ceremony held on Thursday by Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, Zulfiar Hameed.
DIG Investigation, Dr. Inam Waheed, and SSP Investigation, Zeeshan Asghar were among the attendees.
Zulfiqar Hameed said that the application may also be used to carry other identification, such as identifying an unknown person with whom you are undertaking a financial transaction. For now, the app will be available only in Lahore, but will be expanded to rest of the province in the months to come. CCPO Lahore said.
