Twitter Locks Journalist Umar Cheema’s Account For Tweeting About PTI’s Foreign Funding Case
Social media networking platform Twitter has blocked journalist Umar Cheema’s account for a tweet regarding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s foreign funding case.

Pictures doing the rounds on social media showed a message from Twitter on the journalist’s account for violation of its rules.

The post that the social media application had found to be in violation was one in which the journalist had discussed the foreign funding case against the ruling party.

In the said tweet, Cheema talked about the threats of attack made against one of PTI’s founding members, Akbar S Babar, to dissuade him from demanding PTI’s accountability in the foreign funding case.

The journalist had also written of this in one of his recent publications.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Chief Election Commissioner Justice (R) Sardar Raza had directed the Election Commission of Pakistan’s scrutiny body to conduct daily hearings of PTI’s foreign funding case.
