Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Deputy Secretary Information Department Punjab, Dr Nabeel Hassan, has suggested that journalist Matiullah Jan’s abduction was a planned ‘drama’.
The office-bearer of PTI posted a number of tweets with the hashtag #DramaQueenMatiullah, suggesting that he was not abducted by any individual or institution, but he planned the ‘drama’ to save himself from the court proceedings against him in the case pertaining to contempt of court.

However, Nabeel Hassan didn’t post any substantial evidence to proof his claim about the journalist’s abduction on social media.
Matiullah was recovered 12 hours after his abduction from an area near Fateh Jang later on Tuesday night. Senior journalists had confirmed the development. The journalist has thanked fellow journalists, press freedom watchdogs, judiciary, and human rights activists for raising their voice and making his recovery possible.
Earlier on Tuesday, Jan was abducted outside a school in Islamabad where he had come to drop his wife. A footage showed Jan being shoved into a car by armed men wearing police uniforms.
On July 15, he was issued a contempt of court notice by the Supreme Court after he posted a tweet regarding the ongoing case involving Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
