Pakistan Elected To UNESCO’s Executive Board
Pakistan has been re-elected to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) Executive Board for the next four years.

The UNESCO’s General Conference elects the members of the Executive Board according to a system of regional grouping.

The elections for the Executive Board were held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. In the elections, Pakistan secured 154 votes out of 180.

Pakistan has been a member of the board since 1978.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi congratulated the Pakistan’s Ambassador to France Moin-ul-Haq and his team. He stated that elections to the UNESCO Executive Board was a testimony to Pakistan’s stellar contributions in promoting international cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture.
