Federal Minister for Narcotics Control Ali Mohammad Mahar passed away on Tuesday.
According to TV reports, the lawmaker died due to a heart attack in his hometown of Ghotki. He had also served as the 25th Chief Minister of Sindh from 2002 to 2004.
In 2018 general election, Ali Mohammad Mahar was elected to the National Assembly as an independent candidate from Constituency NA-205 Ghotki.
Later, he announced that he was joining hands with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and was appointed a federal minister in September.
Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed sorrow over Mahar’s demise and offered condolences to his family.
