Social Media Activist Sarmad Sultan Goes Missing Under Mysterious Circumstances

A social media activist, Sarmad Sultan, who used to tweet about history and politics and was critical of the establishment, has mysteriously gone missing. His Twitter account with 40k followers was also taken down some 24 hours ago.
Pakistan Muslim League – N (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz alleged that Sarmad was ‘picked up’ for his views. In a tweet, she said that this system where people with alternative views are abducted in broad daylight is precisely what she is fighting.

Journalists and activists have also condemned Sultan’s disappearance and called on the authorities to recover him.

No amount of military parades will hide your fragility if you are scared of a citizen's tweets. #BringBackSarmadSultan

I have always seen him being respectful and talking with logic. Never seen him using bad language or acting like a troll. This is worrisome. #BringBackSarmadSultan

Sarmad Sultan is abducted to induce fear in the country. “Untouchables” believe that will stop people from speaking up.#BringBackSarmadSultan
