Kashmore Rape: Sindh Govt Seeks Highest Police Award For Cop Who Aided Suspect’s Arrest
Sindh government’a spokesperson Murtaza Wahab said on Friday that the provincial government would write to centre seeking the highest police award for the police official Muhammad Bux to honour him and his daughter for their bravery in arresting the man who allegedly raped a mother and her 4-year-old daughter in Kashmore, Sindh.
Addressing a press conference Wahab said, “Without the bravery and courage of the ASI, it would not have been possible to arrest this animal,”
“That is why the Sindh government will write a letter to the Centre recommending that Buriro be given the highest police award — the Quaid-i-Azam Police Medal,” he added.
Wahab also announced that the Sindh government will give the gallantry award to Bux.
Police arrested the culprit who subjected a woman and her daughter to rape for two days.
Police trapped the culprit through the daughter of ASI Bux who was also a police officer. She called the culprit and invited him to a hotel since they had said that they would release the 4-year-old girl only if another girl is brought to them. As the police official’s daughter reached the site, police arrested the culprit.
Wahab also announced that the daughter of police official should also be given the highest police award. Furthermore he stated “if she wishes to pursue higher education, the expenses for her studies will be borne by the Sindh government,” He also promised that she will be given a cash award of 1 million rupees.
He told that the accused had confessed to the crime. “DNA samples have been collected and sent to the laboratory. We will receive the reports within the next 24 to 48 hours”, said wahab.
He said that all the expenses of the treatment of victim will be borne by Sindh Government. He also said that all the expenses of the education of minor will be paid by the Sindh government.
The incident caused a lot of outrage on social media on Thursday after which the police took the action.
