The federal government should deploy the Army or Rangers at all grid stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to bar KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur from invading and restoring power supply forcefully, said senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy.
While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, Suharwardy said that CM Gandapur has directed all provincial lawmakers to visit grid stations and restore power supply. He added that it is a clear challenge to the writ of the federal government.
The analyst said that the KP police are facilitating the KP government; therefore, the federal government should deploy army and paramilitary forces to secure grid stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that this practice should be stopped right here; otherwise, in the future, the Punjab CM, Sindh CM, and Balochistan CM will follow the same approach and challenge the writ of the federal government.
Suharwardy said that the KP government should initiate a crackdown against power theft to curb loadshedding in the province.
While responding to a question, the analyst said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced it will commence its campaign on June 21, but it will fail like the previous ones as people in the KP are not willing to come to the streets for Imran Khan and the PTI. The party is exploiting the issue of loadshedding to get the support of the public, he added.
To another question, Suharwardy said that the PTI has started doing propaganda against Pakistan-China relations because China has agreed to provide financial assistance to the country.
