The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has circulated notices in former FATA's Dara Adam Khel, announcing its return and warning the area’s residents of dire consequences if they violated the group’s strict Islamic code.
In a notice that first emerged on social media, the terror group, while addressing Dara Adam Khel’s residents, stated that they had regrouped and were ready to perform services for Islam and Shariah. The notice told residents that they had been in violation of Islamic law and should hence follow a code delineated on the circular.
The activities listed on the circular prohibited playing music in public and holding music programmes, dancing at weddings, and women travelling without a mahram (male kin).
The group further warned of dire consequences in case of violation of this code.
The Pakistan Military had claimed in 2015 during Operation Zarb-e-Azb that they had broken the back of terrorists.
