Karachi’s residential society Askari 4 has banned the entry of maids, male servants, and drivers as a ‘preventive measure’ against coronavirus outbreak in the city.
Journalist Taneer Ahmed posted the circular distributed by the society on Twitter, saying that the expected class-based discrimination has already started in the virus-hit city.

“Due to coronavirus outbreak epidemic in Karachi and in accordance with government of Sindh order, it has been decided that the entry of maids, male servants, drivers, mali, teahers, and workers etc in Askari 4 to be banned forthwith till April 5, 2020,” the circular stated.
The journalist further said, “the elite can distance themselves in their gated communities and the poor, well, no one really cares if a few poor dies.”
