The timing of Khan’s decision coincides with the aftermath of Pulwama Attack and All India Cine Workers Association’s (AICWA) total ban on Pakistani actors and artists in Bollywood.

Not only that, T-Series among other major Indian music distributors have removed Pakistani content and songs from their platforms as protest against Pulwama Attack.

Earlier this week, the AICWA issued a notice saying that “All Indian Cine Workers Association strongly condemns brutal terrorist attack on our soldiers at Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. AICWA stands with nation in confronting such terror and inhumanity.”

“Were officially announcing a total ban on Pakistani Actors and Artists working in Film Industry. Still if any organization insist on working with Pakistani Artists will be banned by AICWA and a strong action will be taken against them.”

A day after the Pulwama Attack, Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar, who were expected to visit Karachi as honorary guests for an event held in Shabana’s father Kaifi Azmi’s honour, cancelled the trip.

Though Javed Akhtar did not give reasons for cancellation of the trip, but his wife Shabana said that in such circumstances (with reference to Pulwama Attack), the exchange of art was not possible.

Last week, 44 Indian soldiers were killed when a van rammed into a convoy of the officers in Occupied Kashmir.
