‘I Don’t Hate Him’: Man Who Lost Wife In NZ Attack Forgives Shooter
Farid Ahmed lost his wife in Friday’s deadly attack in two mosques in New Zealand but he refused to hate on the attacker Brenton Tarrant saying that he ‘loved him as a person’.

Speaking to BBC, Farid said that he believes the attacker was hurt or angered at something but he could have translated his hurt into a positive response. “He, instead, turned to violence and that is where he was wrong,” Farid said.

Farid said that he had nothing against the attacker and forgives him, hoping that one day the shooter will realize his mistake and that one day God will guide him and he will be a savior. “If someone does bad to you, do good in return.”

He continued that people who commit terrorist attacks or are involved in such activities want to spread hatred and turn people against each other.

“But that is not going to happen. They have attacked Muslims in hope that Muslims will retaliate, but we Muslim leaders assure you that it’s not going to happen,” he said.

Farid’s Wife Saved Several Women And Children Before She Was Shot

While Farid’s courage and words are inspiring, his wife has set the bar ever so high. Instead of fleeing the mosque when she could easily have had, she decided to save others.
