A 15-year-old girl from Hunza Valley in Gilgit Baltistan has made the country proud by winning two gold medal in Special Olympics held in Abu Dhabi.
Farzana Rehmat won both of the Gold medals in Shot Put competitions. She scored 4.96 points in an event held on March 17 at the Dubai Police Officer’s Club Stadium. On March 12, she had won her first Gold in the competition with 4.81 points.
Farzana is also competing in 4×100 Relay and Long Jump and aims to bag more Gold medals, according to Pamir Times. She was born in Chipursan Valley, a remote area near the Pak-Afghan borde.
Last month, Pakistan’s First Female MMA fighter Anita Karim scored an important decision victory at ONE: Warrior Series’ February episode on Thursday.
The Islamabad-based fighter who also hails from Hunza Valley and trains out of Fight Fortress, scored her first MMA win after beating Indonesia’s Gita Suharsono via unanimous decision in Singapore.
Though her opponent had a good reach advantage, Anita’s south-paw striking caused problems for the Indonesian fighter.
The Pakistan fighter inflicted decisive damage on her Indonesian counterpart on counterattacks and was declared victorious on score cards of all three judges.
