In yet another case of domestic violence, a man allegedly cut his wife’s nose in the jurisdiction of Factory Area police.
The man, identified as Sajjad Ahmed, beat his wife over a domestic issue. He allegedly subjected her to severe torture with plastic pipes and kicked and punched her. Sajjad also shaved off his wife’s head.
According to a report in Dawn, neighbours in the area heard the wife, Shazia, and her children crying and rushed to Sajjad’s house. The couple live in Sitara Colony and have six children.
The neighbours rescued Shazia and took her to the Lahore General Hospital after alerting the police.
Regarding Shazia’s injuries, a doctor told media that Shazia had lost her nose and would have a facial surgery where she’d be given an artificial nose.
Shazia informed police that she was on a visit to one of her daughter’s in-laws when her husband came and forcefully took her back home. She added that Sajjad then proceeded to attack her with a knife with which he slashed her nose. Sajjad reportedly was angry that he had to spend money on Shazia’s health after taking a loan from a shopkeeper.
A case has been registered against Sajjad on the complaint of Shazia and police are on the lookout for him as he had fled shortly after committing the crime.
