PM Imran Praises Faisal Vawda For ‘Exposing’ Sindh Govt, Decides To Fire ‘Incompetent’ Ministers
Prime Minister Imran Khan has praised Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda and Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi for ‘abusing’ and ‘exposing’ Sindh government for its role in coronavirus crisis. Moreover, media reports suggest that some federal ministers would be sacked as PM Imran is not satisfied with their performance.

Private channel Samaa reported that the prime minister, in cabinet meeting, appreciated Faisal Vawda and Ali Haider Zaidi for ‘rightfully insulting’ the Sindh government led by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

“People are paying the cost of the decisions – the government of Sindh took in haste,” the private channel quoted the premier as saying.

On Sunday, PTI leader Faisal Vawda lashed out at the Sindh government and said, “The Sindh government needs to see what is happening in Hyderabad, Larkana and Jacobabad. Because of the Sindh government’s incompetence, the number of coronavirus cases is rising.” He added the provincial government had failed to implement the lockdown. “I don’t want to engage in politicking at such a time, but I had no choice. I assure the residents of Karachi that the PTI stands with them,” the federal minister said.

Earlier, Ali Zaidi had slammed PPP over its ‘careless’ attitude towards the province's health sector. While talking to the media, the minister said, “No ventilator is available in hospitals in upper Sindh and only two isolation centres are established.” He further said that the PPP government was taking decisions without homework.

Meanwhile, The Express Tribune reported that in coming days, a number of federal ministers would be sacked for showing below par performance. According to sources in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the premier believes that despite the 48-member federal cabinet, the performance of several ministries and their subordinate departments is not satisfactory.

The PMO has directed all the federal ministers to submit a detailed report on the meetings held in their ministries, decisions taken and implementation on those decisions since the time of their taking office.

Sources close to PM Imran said that the chief executive of the country would take decision about the future of ministers based on their performance reports and would sack those who are not performing up to expectations.
