Zara Naeem Dar, a student from Lahore, has scored the highest on the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) exam, making her the first one to achieve this feat. She has been declared the global prize-winner by the examination body.
More than 527,000 students from nearly 179 countries took the exam.
Zara in an interview about how she felt having achieved this milestone said: “My father is a true role model for me. I grew up seeing him reaching great heights in his military service that always inspired me to follow in his footsteps.”
On why did chose to study ACCA, she said it was a natural choice. “Most military families move every few years, so I always knew I needed a qualification that ensures flexibility and offers global mobility.”
“With bodies like ACCA opening access, you will be surprised to learn that ACCA now has a female student base of 58%. With more women than ever looking to become professional accountants. So yes, get ready to see cracks in the glass ceiling,” she further said.
