The prime suspect in the Lahore-Sialkot motorway gang-rape case, Abid Malhi, was finally caught by Punjab police on Monday. The arrest comes a month after the incident.
According to police, Abid was arrested from Faisalabad and the authorities are now moving him to Lahore for investigation.
Prime Minister's Special Assistant Shehbaz Gill took to Twitter to confirm the development. He added that the accused would be punished as per the law.

Abid, who was leading a gang of four, was also wanted to police in at least 10 other criminal cases registered at various police stations of Punjab.
The other suspect in the case, Shafqat has already been detained by the police from his house in Okara. He has been sent to 14-day judicial remand by an anti-terrorism court earlier. According to reports, Shafqat confessed to the crime before his DNA matched the samples collected from the crime scene.
