Former president Pervez Musharraf has reacted to the Lahore High Court (LHC) verdict nullifying the Special Court verdict against him in high treason case.
The LHC had declared the formation of the special court, which had sentenced him to death for high treason, ‘unconstitutional’.
Former president Musharraf, in an audio statement, lauded the verdict of the high court, and said that the court made the decision according to the law and Constitution.
The former president expressed gratitude for those who prayed for his health and said that his condition is gradually improving.
In its verdict, the LHC held that the Article 6 of the Constitution was modified through the 18th Amendment in 2010, while the case against Musharraf concerned events that happened before that.
