PTA Changes Public Message On Coronavirus From ‘Not Deadly’ To ‘Can Be Deadly’
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has changed its coronavirus public awareness message, from ‘not deadly’ to ‘can be deadly' in the message.

Journalist Zarrar Khuhro associated with DAWN News, took to Twitter to inform people about the recent development. He said, “PTA had changed the coronavirus message from 'jaan leva nahin hai' [not deadly] [to 'jaan leva ho sakti hai' [can be deadly]. About time, as the first message was wrong.”

On March 26, PTA issued a press release saying that the authority has sent more than 366 million coronavirus public awareness messages in English, Urdu, Sindhi, Punjabi, Balochi, and Pashto since March 19.

However, currently the country’s telecom authority is being criticized for not terming the coronavirus outbreak as ‘deadly’ in the first place, keeping in view the fact that to date, 93 people have lost their lives due to the fatal virus in Pakistan.
