Four Pakistani religious figures from different schools of thought have appeared in a video from Britain, seeking to clarify their views after they met British minister Lord Tariq Ahmad at an interfaith event. They explained that they were present as guests at the interfaith event at the invitation of the British government, so as to show Pakistan's beautiful face and harmony between religions.
Ashiq Husain, Kazim Naqvi, Masud Mujahid and Shakeelur Rehman Nasir dismissed what they described as efforts to give a 'wrong colour' to their meetings in Britain. They explained that they did not know the religious affiliation of Lord Tariq Ahmad beforehand.
They went on to note that since the UK government was not a Muslim one, all its ministers were also non-Muslims. In conclusion, they reiterated that members of the Ahmadiyya community are not Muslim, and that the same applies to anyone who has a 'soft spot' for them.
