Pakistan Television (PTV) allegedly censored the speeches of opposition leaders during the National Assembly session held at the Parliament House today. Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif's speech was not broadcast by the state TV in its entirety, and it discontinued the coverage of proceedings of the session for some time after telecasting Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi's speech.
Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Parliamentary leader Sherry Rehman has criticised the state television PTV for not broadcasting the speeches of the opposition in the National Assembly session that took place today after two months.
This might also count as censorship of the opinions of the leading opposition members of the government. Sherry Rehman said, "The issue is of utmost importance and we are getting a 'tasveeri khabarnama' and 'analysis' of a government speech!"

The National Assembly of Pakistan met today at 3 PM to discuss the coronavirus situation in the country after parliamentary leaders belonging to various political factions reached a consensus on necessary safety measures and rules of procedure.
Covid-19 is the only discussion topic on the agenda to allow legislators to share their suggestions and recommendations regarding the pandemic and to build national consensus on the issue.
