Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Saad and Salman Rafique were on Tuesday taken into custody by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over alleged involvement in Paragon Housing Society scam.
A two-judge Lahore High Court (LHC) bench lead by Justice Tariq Abbasi rejected Khawaja brothers’ petition for bail after hearing arguments from both sides.
The NAB prosecutor said the bureau was conducting investigations on basis of law and that the two brothers were certainly involved in the case. He said there bail petition should be rejected.
"The Khawaja brothers have admitted that they took millions of rupees as commission," NAB prosecutor said according to Dawn.
Saad and Salman’s counsel argued that "from the total profit of the Executive Builders, only 6 per cent was taken by their clients," adding that "they had declared whatever they had earned."

On the other hand, Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz was barred from travelling abroad by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Hamza was travelling to London via a Doha-bound flight when he was stopped as his name was included in the Exit Control List.
“When I reached the immigration counter, I was told that my name is on the black list. I am not wanted in the ongoing National Accountability Bureau (NAB) inquiry,” Hamza Shehbaz said according to The News.

NAB has also initiated inquiry into assets of former information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb. NAB spokesperson said a complaint was received against Aurangzeb but the name of the complainant was not revealed.
He said that the complainant has provided details of the ex-minister's assets.
