Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health Dr Zafar Mirza has confirmed that nine new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Karachi within a day. Following this development, the total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 16.
Dr Mirza took to Twitter on Tuesday to inform that all the nine confirmed cases were contacts of an already confirmed case in Karachi. "Further contacts are being traced and tested," he added.

In a previous tweet, SAPM had informed that one patient who was diagnosed with novel coronavirus had recovered, and “another one is ready to be discharged”. He said the people of Pakistan can avoid coronavirus outbreak, “if we all act responsibly”.

So far, 16 patients have been diagnosed with the deadly virus in different regions of Pakistan. Every reported patient had visited Iran, where coronavirus has claimed around 230 lives to date. Moreover, more than 3,100 people have lost their lives in China after being affected by coronavirus.
