Clearing the air on speculations about differences within the opposition, Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz has said that her party had no reservations over Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s remarks made in a recent interview with BBC.
She expressed these views while talking to reporters in an informal meeting on Saturday upon her return from Gilgit-Balistan where she had gone for PMLN’s election campaign.
She added that the interview was misrepresented by those who want to create rifts within Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
Earlier, Bilawal Bhutto’s interview with BBC in which he said that he was ‘shocked’ by former PM Nawaz Sharif blaming COAS Bajwa and DG ISI General Faiz Hameed for manipulating the 2018 general elections generated a controversy with analysts questioning PPP’s commitment to the PDM program.
Dawn quoted Maryam Nawaz as saying that Bilawal’s statement was clear and twisting it is the ‘need of few people’. She further said that the government was trying to create differences in the opposition alliance since they know ‘their boat is sinking’.
