Pakistan is still mulling its travel advisory for players from other countries attending sporting events in the country, according to Foreign Office spokesperson Aisha Farooqui.
“We are monitoring the situation and it will be decided in case of any development,” the FO spokesperson stated.
The Professional Squash Association (PSA) has left the decision-making on this count to the government. In the first week of April some 17 foreign players are expected in Islamabad to take part in the CAS International Squash Championship. Many are from countries where there have been significant numbers of deaths due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Some countries in the region have taken stronger measures in an effort to prevent entry of people from a number of regions afflicted by Coronavirus outbreaks. For example, this month India has suspended visas to sporting event participants from a number of countries, including Iran, Italy, Japan and South Korea.
