The women had been arrested on grounds of having weapons stored in their houses. They were presented before the media with weapons laid down before them and the police stating that these belonged to the arrestees.
Baloch leaders had maintained that the arrest of women was an assault to their traditions of 'honour' and demanded their immediate release They also cited that their arrest without warrants was also wrong.
On Friday, BNP chief Akthar Mengal had also staged a protest in the National assembly over this, threatening to quit the government if the women are not released.
