Fatima Fertilizer Company has secured first position in the Human Rights category at the United Nations Global Compact Network Pakistan (GCNP) Sustainability Awards 2026, recognising the company’s efforts towards responsible business practices, inclusion and social impact.
The recognition highlights Fatima Fertilizer’s people-centred approach to sustainability and its initiatives aimed at creating positive impact for employees, farmers and communities.
The company’s sustainability journey was formally strengthened in November 2024 when Fatima Fertilizer became the first private-sector organisation in Pakistan to formally adopt the UNDP SDG Impact Framework. Under the framework, the company has mapped its activities against 15 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), 49 targets and eight priority impact areas.
Fatima Fertilizer’s sustainability strategy combines responsible business practices with its role in supporting Pakistan’s agriculture sector. Its initiatives cover a range of areas, including farmer livelihoods, food security, employee wellbeing, women’s empowerment, education and skills development.
The company has also undertaken initiatives related to environmental stewardship, climate action, resource efficiency, digital inclusion and responsible agricultural practices.
Rabel Sadozai, Director Marketing and Sales at Fatima Fertilizer, said the recognition in the Human Rights category was an affirmation of the company’s people-centred approach to sustainability.
“Being recognised in the Human Rights category is a meaningful affirmation of our people-centred approach to sustainability,” Sadozai said, adding that the company remained committed to creating lasting value for employees, farmers and communities while advancing responsible business practices and contributing to the SDGs.
The company said its sustainability efforts contribute to several UN Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 2 on Zero Hunger, SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4 on Quality Education and SDG 5 on Gender Equality.
Its initiatives also support SDG 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 10 on Reduced Inequalities and SDG 12 on Responsible Consumption and Production.
The GCNP Sustainability Awards recognise organisations whose business operations and initiatives reflect the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, covering human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, as well as the 17 SDGs.
The latest recognition adds to Fatima Fertilizer’s portfolio of sustainability and social-impact achievements and reflects its stated efforts to integrate sustainability into its business strategy, operations and long-term value creation.
