Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has decided to go abroad for the treatment of the multiple diseases he is suffering from.
According to a report in Dawn, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supreme leader has finally decided to pay heed to the advice and insistence of his doctors and family members.
A source close to the family informed media that Nawaz Sharif had finally agreed to go to London after he was told categorically by his doctors that they had exhausted all the options available in Pakistan and that the only option left was going abroad.
The PML-N has shared the doctors’ recommendations with the PTI government. In light of the recommendations, the government was likely to remove Nawaz’s name from the Exit Control List, the source added.
The source further said that Maryam Nawaz would not be going with her father as she had surrendered her passport as a condition of the bail granted to her in the Chaudhry Sugar Mill Case.
The former PM’s platelet count has reportedly dropped to 24,000. Doctors have said that a platelet count of 50,000 was necessary for air travel. The source stated that Nawaz may be given a dose to increase his platelets before he travels.
