The possibility of allowing passport-free entry to the Kartarpur Corridor for Indian pilgrims is under consideration before the National Assembly of Pakistan.
Interior Minister Ijaz Shah informed the Assembly that currently, passport-free entry for Indian citizens is not possible, due to the arrangement signed between the two countries. But it was possible, according to the Interior Minister, to enhance religious tourism from India by offering passport-free entry.
Further, the Interior Minister stated that the input of the foreign affairs ministry was required. He also answered questions about the current system for allowing pilgrims entry to the Gurdwara and the various security arrangements made on the Pakistani side of the border.
