The Punjab government has decided to turn former finance minister and Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) leader Ishaq Dar's house into a shelter house for the homeless citizens.
The decision was made by the Social Welfare Department of Punjab. According to reports, beds for the homeless have been placed in the house and a separate section for women has also been arranged.
Earlier, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) had previously sealed Dar’s house on orders from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). NAB had moved ab accountability court demanding that Dar's property in Pakistan be seized and auctioned since he was an absconder.
Ishaq Dar is being tried in several cases in Pakistan while he remains self-exiled in the UK.
