BEIJING: The 2026 Beijing International Great Wall Concert, themed “An Ode to Ironclad Friendship,” brought together diplomats, former Pakistani foreign secretaries and ambassadors, Chinese officials and artists for an evening celebrating the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China.
Jointly organised by the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing and the China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC), with support from the People’s Government of Yanqing District, the landmark cultural event used music and artistic expression to highlight the longstanding bonds between the two countries.
Held against the historic backdrop of the Great Wall, the concert provided a platform for cultural exchange and diplomatic engagement, bringing together representatives of Pakistan’s diplomatic community, Chinese dignitaries and prominent figures from the arts and cultural sectors.
The participation of former Pakistani foreign secretaries and ambassadors added a strong diplomatic dimension to the event. Their presence underscored the continuity of Pakistan’s engagement with China and the importance attached to the relationship across successive generations of policymakers and diplomats.
The concert also demonstrated the growing importance of cultural initiatives in complementing traditional diplomatic exchanges.
