The Foreign office of Pakistan has denied the reports of Indian media about Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) being involved in a Sikh gurdwara attack in Afghanistan that took place last week.
The blast claimed the lives of 25 people who were present at the site for their morning prayers. Global terror groups Islamic State (ISIS) had claimed responsibility for the attack.
Abdullah Orakzai, also known as Aslam Farooqi, was claimed to be the mastermind who planned and carried out the attack, according to India Today. He was later arrested on Saturday by Afghanistan’s National Directorate of security.
The same report also indicated that Orakzai has shared a friendly relation with Lashkar e Taiba and the Haqqani network.
Responding to these allegations, the Foreign Office in a statement said it rejected the 'officially-inspired reports' and termed the move 'mischievous and condemnable'.
The FO also said that these reports were a part of a smear campaign against Pakistan which was patently designed to implicate the charges and divert attention from its own unacceptable actions and state sponsored terrorism in India-occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
The FO added that Pakistan remained confident that such Indian ploys will not succeed in misleading the world community.
